Karen Stamper

As an artist Karen Stamper sees both beauty and tragedy in society and it is this juxtaposition that she seeks to convey in her portraiture. She uses bright bold colours to mask, what is to her, potentially disturbing subject matter. She says, "As in life, a pretty picture can mask a horrific situation."
